We pioneered the use of foam protection (ask someone who has now hung up their pads how heavy and cumbersome kit was before Monarch!). We recognised the potential to combine the right foams and achieve a mix of protection and lightweight to benefit every goalkeeper. As you often find with pioneers the urge to improve never goes away and we continuously improve our products to enhance your performance.

Monarch foam has been C.E. tested by an independent body for Protective Clothing and Equipment. As far as we are aware it is the only range to have been tested and approved. Does this matter? It matters if you are responsible in a Club or School for the provision of safe equipment. And it matters just as much if you are a goalkeeper who would rather take it as read that the equipment you use can be trusted fully. The tests were categorised into playing levels - our products passed every high impact protection test for each playing level.

We have a passion for hockey. Having played and coached for many years we understand what is important for goalkeepers. Its the important details you will value where we incorporate new ideas. Reinforced areas just where you need them; comfortable ‘docking’ between legguards and kickers; moulded legguard design for quick ‘logging’ in front of an attacker.

We have a number of ranges, from Mini for youngsters, to Dominator to those playing at the top level. All our products are designed to provide uncompromising protection for their respective playing levels. As you progress through the range we modify the designs to provide higher protection. The secret is in the foam we use. Mini and Junior ranges, for example, are made from a single layer of 60mm foam, which affords complete protection for the speed and strength of players of younger ages. At the higher end of the range, Dutch Wing and Dominator, feature combination foams with high density strengthening foam in areas of greatest contact. Performance attributes such as high rebound are also more critical to your performance and, accordingly, our designs.
